The acclaimed musical HADESTOWN by singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and director Rachel Chavkin will be coming to Melbourne’s Her Majesty’s Theatre in May 2025. HADESTOWN  is the winner of 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. 

HADESTOWN is a defiantly hopeful theatrical experience that takes you on a journey to the underworld and back, intertwining two mythic love stories: young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and his wife Persephone.

This riveting new production is directed by Marion Potts (Othello, Hamlet), who returns to Bell Shakespeare after 15 years, and stars dynamic newcomer JK Kazzi.

Based on Tim Burton’s beloved film, Beetlejuice is wilder, funnier, and more mischievous than ever. The story centers on Lydia Deetz, a quirky teenager fascinated by the idea of death. When her new home turns out to be haunted by a recently deceased couple and a chaotic demon with a penchant for stripes, Lydia enlists the ghostly Beetlejuice to help scare off her annoying parents. What follows is a hilarious and chaotic ride filled with exorcisms, a terrified girl scout, and an uproarious visit to the netherworld.
