Every year, the City of Melbourne Christmas Festival turns the CBD into a giant Christmas playground. Streets sparkle with lights, laneways are dressed with giant baubles and ribbons, and pop-up choirs fill the air with carols. The festival spreads across Docklands and Collins Street, making it easy to explore while shopping or sightseeing. Families will love the free kids’ activities, while night-time visitors can enjoy light installations and festive projections on iconic buildings.

Christmas Square – Federation Square
At the heart of the city celebrations is Christmas Square at Federation Square, Melbourne’s official Christmas hub. Visitors can expect family-friendly activities, festive films on the big screen and plenty of places to enjoy food and drinks while taking in the lights. Myer Christmas Windows
No Melbourne Christmas is complete without visiting the Myer Christmas Windows on Bourke Street Mall. This year, Celebrate 70 years of the iconic Myer Melbourne Christmas Windows with a magical new story built from over 488,000 LEGO® bricks. Follow a child’s letter, and a cheeky elf on a whimsical journey from Melbourne to Santa’s North Pole workshop, captured across six enchanting Bourke Street windows. The tradition continues inside Myer as well, where families can visit Santaland, board the Santa Express and snap a photo with Santa, all at no cost.
Experience the magic of the Myer Christmas Lights Shows every night until the 25th of December.
